A Bit About Me

Vianni Katrina Contreras is originally from Laredo, Texas and is a teacher, dancer, and choreographer. She is now the Owner and Director of Elite Institute of Dance located in Laredo. With many years of dance training in various styles she is a recent graduate with a BFA in Dance, and a minor in Business Education from Sam Houston State University (SHSU). Vianni was elected as Sophomore Representative (2017-2018) and Historian (2018-2019) for Chi Tau Epsilon, the dance honor society at SHSU. At Sam Houston she has performed works by Jennifer Pontius, Kyle Craig-Bogard, Dana Nicolay, and David Deveau. She has also performed for the Nicolay Dance Works Company as well as performed at Barnstorm Dance Festival in Houston. Contreras was awarded a scholarship to train and perform at the Gus Giordano College Pro Intensive. This is Contreras’ sixth year with the MA Dance Company where she teaches nationwide. She has been teaching and choreographing for over 7 years receiving various National choreography awards. Contreras hopes to inspire not only her students, but every dancer she gets the opportunity to work with.
